Tomorrow begins the decent...
Tomorrow is the first day of the hell that is tech week for "Closer". For those of you who don't know, it is the worst, yet most exciting week of a production. You overwork yourself, don't get nearly enough sleep, get irritated with everyone, and forget to eat a lot. On the flip side, you get to wear your costumes for the first time, see how all the lights and technical elements (filmed segments, chat room scene) come together, and finally, open the darned thing. Thursday is rapidly approaching and I, for one, am very excited. I think we have a killer show that will surprise a lot of people. Urban Samurai is on it's way up. I just hope some reviewers come to this one...

A new me...
I have been on a diet for almost two months now and I feel like a new me. I have lost 17 pounds and two waist sizes. That sucks because my belt is too big to hold up my too big pants. Anyhoo, my goal is to make it to 20 pounds by next Thursday. I think I can make it...
"Closer" is coming along very well. We are really getting into the nitty-gritty at rehearsals and there is lots of crying and hugging and crazy emotional shit going down. It is very different than working on a comedy, I can tell you that much. When all is said and done, I think we are going to have a kick-ass show that will blow the socks off of you people. I hope everyone can come see it...

A brand new Tetris...
My old roommate and best friend, Marty, is a bit of a puzzle fanatic. He used to collect different versions of Tetris just because it was a puzzle game. Now his fascination with two different thinking games has been combined into one. Developed and programmed by Marty himself, Go Tetris combines the pieces of Tetris and the ancient game of Go. It is really worth a look. All the kinks are being worked out, so let me know what you think. I will pass along all the information to him :)
Show announcment...

What I did for Easter...
This Easter was a very different Easter than in years past. Most of the time I would spend time with my folks and eat way too much and have much enjoyment of it. This year, my parents were going to be out of town. On top of that, I have my new show to rehearse. So this is how my day went down.
I spent the entire day with my cast. We are going to have small filmed snippets projected on the large screen at the Old Arizona in between scenes for "Closer". This will give a little extra background info on the characters and also cover the scene changes that will be happening on stage. During the day, we spent a lot of time filming a good portion of those segments. I watched the footage we shot. I think it's going to be really cool. I have decided I look a little weird on film, but I will get over it.
Then, the entire cast and director went out to eat or Easter dinner. Since none of us had parents to visit, we decided to go the "white trash" route and visit Old Country Buffet for dinner. It was a blast!! None of us over ate, but we all got our fill of non-traditional holiday fare. Can anyone say tacos?
To end the day, we went back and did table work on a few scenes from the show. It is shaping up nicely. I can't wait for May to come around. It is coming up fast, though. In just a few short weeks Urban Samurai will unveil this little beast to the world. I hope you all can be there...

Moving "Closer"...
We have begun to rehearse for "Closer" and I am very happy about it. I think the cast has tremendous chemistry and devotion. It should turn out just great.
Reading through this script has definitely got me thinking though. What are my relationships and what do they mean to me? I can tell you that I miss having someone living with me. I liked having the place to myself for a little while last year, but having Nic living with me was a nice little bump in socializing that I now miss again. I have this longing to be in a relationship, but haven't settled my life down enough to be able to find one. I guess I am feeling much more lonely than I thought I was. It is 100% my fault, but that doesn't make it any easier. Hmmm...I'll have to work on this...

Can't...Stop...Posting...
I found this little thing of doom on Geekologie today. I want my oversleeping co-worker to have one...
Holy God in heaven...
Um...what? Is this for real? It must be. I can't think anymore. My mind is all messed up inside....
Happy experience...
I went and saw "The Lookout" last night and it was frickin' awesome!!! It was an all around good night at the movies. I didn't pay, I got a free small popcorn, they didn't put too much ice in my drink, the movie was awesome, then I had a great conversation about it and other movies on the drive home. Yay!! I love when stuff works out in your favor.
BTW, go see "THE LOOKOUT"!!!!!

I don't know if this is right...
I took a test on OKCupid today and this is what came up. I'm not sure if it is right or not. I think it exaggerates a little. Plus, I thought it was weird that there is a scorpion on his chest. I AM a scorpio...

We are victorious...
Over the past three months, I have been teaching ComedySportz to Eden Prairie High School. They have been competing the past few weeks and tonight was the championship show. I am VERY proud to say we came out on top as the victors!! We brought home the trophy and I couldn't be happier as the coach. Is was a very rewarding experience and I loved every minute I have spent with these very talented kids. Congrats, guys. You've earned it.
